New in our Network: Haus Auerbach by Gropius!

Haus Auerbach, designed for the Jewish couple Felix and Anna Auerbach, was built in 1924 and is one of the few private homes that Walter Gropius ever constructed. It is the only Gropius building with the original colored interior and one of the most important examples of the interbellum era of 'Neues Bauen' in Europe. The present owners restored it meticulously in 1994/95 and show you their house by appointment.

Keeping it Modern: Two Iconic Houses Members receive 2015 Architectural Conservation Grants 

Six of the fourteen grants awarded by the Getty Foundation's Keeping it Modern initiative, are given to support the conservation of 20th century houses. Among them are our members Gropius House and Het Schip (Michel de Klerk), but also other gems, such as the Strutt House and George Nakashima's House and Studio.
