Melnikov House Joins the Plaque Club
Slowly but surely, the Iconic Houses plaque is becoming a familiar sight worldwide, as our black-and-white badges of honour migrate to our member homes. Welcome MHA Site Office, by A. Quincy Jones in LA
The MHA Site Office was the first structure built in Crestwood Hills for the post-war cooperative housing effort, formerly known as the Mutual Housing Association. Today, only 30 of the original 80 designs remain. Of these, 19 are designated cultural and historic monuments of the City of Los Angeles. MHA Site Office is one of them. Now the stunning home of architect Cory Buckner, it can be visited by appointment.

Welcome Strutt House: Our First Member in Canada!
The Strutt House in Ottawa is a defining work of the prominent Canadian postwar architect James W. Strutt. Constructed as his family’s residence in 1956, it is Canada’s earliest wood hyperbolic paraboloid roof and a first example of its type internationally. It was built over a period of six weeks by a carpenter and one helper. The Strutt Foundation took on the facility and its public programming in 2015.
