| | | EIGHT CUBIC METERS: LANG U AGE I SAC ON FINED SPACE | Exhibition by Antrianna Moutoula
@ Eight Cubic Meters, Sint Nicolaasstraat, Amsterdam
With LANG U AGE I SAC ON FINED SPACE, Moutoula turns for the first time to material installation as a means of engaging with this ephemeral practice. She isolates the keyboard—an essential element of her performance setup—and transforms it from a tool to write with into an object that can be read. Through the rearrangement of keycaps, the keyboard becomes a site where text is disassembled and recomposed.

@ No Limits! Art Castle, Amsterdam
Opening 20 JUNE from 17:00 till 21:00

In a real dining room, different cultures are brought together, and the artists each show their story in their own way: in textiles, ceramics and sculptures. Around the same theme, works by other artists whose work fits the exhibition can also be seen. Think of zines, engraved chef's knives and ceramic dumplings.

@ Museum Folkwang Essen, Germany
There is an homage in the title Banners for Heresies, both towards the New York based feminist magazine Heresies and to the word heresy itself. A word Johanna Ehde and Elisabeth Rafstedt of Rietlanden Women’s Office (RWO) borrow to describe their graphic design methods, where they collect and reactivate design elements, print methods, and work processes stemming from a graphic design history formed within an international feminist struggle opposed to capitalism, imperialism, and patriarchy.

| | | TUSSENTIJD | Group exhibition with a.o. Pedro Matias
@ Frans en Hilde Hof, Amersfoort
Like an island in time, this is the Frans and Hilde Hof in Amersfoort. An oasis in the turbulent world. It is a garden with a private character as it often occurred in the Middle Ages.
But before you form a (too) romantic image of the garden, make no mistake. Because the Frans and Hilde Hof has modern quirky traits and that makes it the ideal location for the exhibition 'Tussentijd'. The works of twelve participating artists do not require a quick, fleeting look but for full attention! So that you can lose yourself in 'the moments in between'.

| | | | | ART-I-CHOKE | Exhibition by Niels Albers
@ Hortillonnages Amiens, France
According to legend, the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Amiens was built on a field of artichokes donated by a medieval market gardener who cultivated the fertile soil of the Hortillonnages. In recognition of the gift, a statue of him was placed on the façade. However, the artichoke did not arrive in France until the late 15th or early 16th century whereas the cathedral was built between 1220 and 1269, making this legend an early case of “fake news.”
Niels Albers’ exhibit for the festival is inspired by the form of the artichoke, with its layered leaves mirrored in a contemplative structure.

| | | OBJECT VOOR OPA | Group exhibition with a.o. Sijben Rosa
@ Inside Out Art Museum, Beijing
During the last few years of his life he had to deal with aphasia, an impairment causing him to slowly lose his linguistic and other cognitive abilities. When he could barely speak any longer, Covid-19 robbed us of the only way of communication we had left: touch.
That’s when I decided to make an art experience that was tailored to his specific condition; one that was to be experienced somewhat through sight, but predominantly through touch. The shape of Object voor Opa (Object for Grandpa) is based on movements I remembered him doing with my hands, on ways of touching and holding on that he seemed to enjoy.
