Michał Jurys (1978, PL/NL) is an artist and designer who works with various aspects of print and paper. He graduated from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam (NL). Michał concentrates in his practice on the relationship between the person and the structures around him. What interests him most is the unique experience of every individual. Therefore his works are an invitation to enter a space of contemplation, exploration and asking questions. Meaning can be found only in the dialog between us and perceived reality. However an image of the world we see is still an elusive psychological phenomenon. Currently Michał lives and works in the Amsterdam.
He is the founder of Studio M13 - an Amsterdam based art space for cross–disciplinary presentations, performances and workshops. For the past two years he has given creative classes for children at the Polish school in Delft.
Since 2014, he has started with Samga Nguyen (NL) the company Pear Paper. They are a creative husband and wife duo who are dedicated to bringing back the art of making notes, writing and leaving "traces" on paper. With Pear Paper they combine a passion for paper with traditional printmaking techniques such as silkscreening and letter press to produce notebooks, cards and paper light sculptures. The idea is to give joy through their work and inspire people to write down their ideas and live life to the fullest.
Michał Jurys • (1978) jest absolwentem Gerrit Rietveld Academy w Amsterdamie (Holandia). Jest artystą i grafikiem, który pracuje z różnymi aspektami druku i papieru. Jest założycielem StudioM13 w Amsterdamie–przestrzeni dla interdyscyplinatnych spotkań, warsztatów i performance. Od 2014 roku z Samga Nguyen (NL) prowadzi działalność jako Pear Paper. Jest to kreatywne duo, które poprzez swoje produkty chce inspirować do rozwoju, “bujania w obłokach” i wiary w piękno własnej unikalności. W Pear Paper Samga i Michał łączą pasję do papieru i typografii z tradycyjnymi technikami drukarskimi. Obecnie Michał mieszka i pracuje w Amsterdamie.
