Symposium The Public and the Modern House

The first initiative following to the launch of the Iconic Houses Network is an all-day symposium, The Public and the Modern House, during Modernism Week, organized by the Palm Springs Art Museum and Sunnylands as a sponsor on Saturday 23 February 2013.

Dr. Susanna Pettersson is the Director of Alvar Aalto Foundation / Alvar Aalto Museum in Finland. The museum has four venues in two cities, Helsinki and Jyväskylä. Three of the venues are modern house museums and the fourth one is a traditional museum designed by Alvar Aalto
