Invitation to Dinner! Join us at Villa 1
Here’s an unusual opportunity to combine supporting our work at Iconic Houses with dinner in a future Iconic House! On October 8, we are launching our new series of fundraising dinners with a special evening at Villa 1 in the Netherlands. This is a rare chance to visit a unique 21st-century house in a stunning location and an opportunity to connect with others from the architectural and cultural world.
Welcome Villa Rothmayer!
The personal residence of the Czech architect Otto Rothmayer is an important work of Prague’s interwar architecture. His wife, Božena Rothmayerová, was a renowned textile artist and promoter of modern lifestyle. The design reflects the inspiration by Rothmayer's teacher Jože Plečnik. Today, the house is regarded as a unique document of the intellectual background and daily life of two leading figures of Czech modern art.
Work in Progress - Capricho de Gaudi
Carlos Mirapeix, Managing Director of the Capricho de Gaudí, gives us a look behind the scenes. The Capricho represents the starting point for Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí. This early work in Comillas, 150 km west of Bilbao in the north of Spain, is full of passion and originality and includes all the ingredients for which Gaudí is world-famous.
