Meet Our Keynote Speaker: Architect Hans van Heeswijk
In his keynote lecture, Pioneers of the Dutch Modern House, architect Hans Van Heeswijk will connect early Dutch Modernists with the wider European context. Dutch architects like Berlage, Van Doesburg, Van Eesteren, Rietveld, Oud and Van der Vlugt played leading roles in the development of Modern architecture. We experience their legacy with tours to a number of houses in the Netherlands, Belgium and France.
Experimental Housing 1968 - 1980 - Speaker Anita Blom
Anita Blom is a specialist in post-war architecture and urban design at the Cultural Heritage Agency (RCE) in the Netherlands. She currently heads RCE’s Post 65 project, which examines ways of dealing with recent heritage. At the conference, she talks about experimental housing of the 1970s. Are these buildings the monuments of the future? And can they play a role in navigating current and future challenges in Dutch spatial planning?
Welcome Villa Morassutti, Holiday Rental!
Enjoy a unique holiday in the Dolomites! The beautiful Alpine resort of San Martino di Castrozza charmed architect Bruno Morassutti and in 1956 he built a family home there. Free of the constraints normally set by clients, the house is a homage to his mentor Frank Lloyd Wright (Morassutti had attended his architecture school Taliesin West), and develops the concept of the Usonian House.
Leadership Circle Launch at GLUCK+ Tower House
