Now Online - Toolkits for Owners of Modern Houses | We're excited to present our first two toolkits, for the USA and the Netherlands. Whether you’re a conservation professional or a complete novice, if you're the owner or custodian of a modern house, our new toolkits can help. Even if your house is not in the Netherlands or USA, some of the know-how is universally applicable. Also, much can be learned from what happens elsewhere. We're now investigating whether our toolkits can be expanded for other countries where we have many house museum members, including Belgium, Germany and the Czech Republic.

| USA Toolkit | In 2019, the Iconic Houses Foundation initiated a pilot project partnering with the Annenberg Retreat at Sunnylands and the Getty Conservation Institute to compile a toolkit for the USA as part of the GCI's Conserving Modern Architecture Initiative. A grant from the American Express Foundation made it possible to realise our ideas, and now we are proud to share the results!

| Welcome Polman House in Nagele! | Nagele is the only 'flat-roof village' in the Netherlands and is an icon of the Dutch Nieuwe Bouwen style - the Dutch version of Modernist or Bauhaus architecture. It's also an early example of post-war social housing. For the first time, ordinary people could live in a semi-transparent house. The kitchen and living room were separated from one another by a partition wall made of glass, allowing the sun to shine right through.

| Explore Iconic Houses Close to Home | In these times of coronavirus, it makes sense to explore the modern house museums close to home. For inspiration, take a look at the guides we've compiled in recent months to the house museums of France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain and the Nordic countries. You'll find them in our News section. And, even if you decide to stay home this month, you can still travel the houses from your couch. Enjoy!
