| | ECOGNOSIS N52°19’42 E4°53’34 | BetweenTwoHands
@ Zone2Source Glasshouse Amstelpark, Amsterdam
Art collective BetweenTwoHands (Erin Tjin A Ton & Gosia Kaczmarek) is inspired by the book The World Without Us by Alan Weisman, in which he describes how different locations in the world are overgrown by nature once man is no longer there.
Through this installation, the artists want to make tangible how humans influence nature and to imagine what a world without humans would look like. The artists are converting Zone2Source’s Glass House into an enlarged living room.
Daily between 12 - 6pm
The exhibition is visible from outside, therefore you do not need a QR code to see the work.

| .JPG?v=20211209133221) | CATHARSIS | Nomin Zezegma
@ eightcubicmeters, Amsterdam
As part of the GRA Awards 2020 Nomin Zezegmaa has been given the opportunity to show new work to a new audience.
Catharsis presents a multidimensional body of work delving deeper into the symbol-making function of the psyche, growing into the conscious from the unconscious, through painting as well as visual story-telling. The paintings along with the sculptural elements and the calligraphic symbols written on the windows and profound photographic imagery together, emerge as carriers and creatures of Mongol Futurist semiotics and the chthonic realms of the Unconscious.

| | I SPY WITH MY LITTLE EYE, SOMETHING... | by Joana Velu
Is it possible to see the world through someone else's eyes? Or do we inevitably translate the experiences of others through those of our own?

Upcoming RietveldTV
25 & 26 DEC @AT5 - 22:40 by Anna Plowden
|
| | VIDEO PORTRAITS | Video portraits of Mathild Clerc-Verhoeven, Novi Erytryasilani, Roxane Mbanga, Mica Pan, Anna Plowden, Shifra Osorio Whewell, Eva van der Zand, Karly Gerharts and Jun Ortega
An independent, external committee was asked to reflect on the Graduation Show 2021 as a whole and to signal current tendencies and themes. The committee was also asked to select a number of projects by graduating students that support these observations.
Luuk Heezen and Rik Lauwen created video portraits of all selected projects.
The selected projects also get the opportunity to develop either a RietveldTV episode or an exhibition in Eight Cubic Meters and thus bring their work to a new audience in a new context.
Watch all portraits here, together with the reflection report and a podcast by jajajaneeneenee, focusing on a change of direction. The Gerrit Rietveld Academie moved away from presenting awards to graduates and instead invites a committee to signal tendencies and themes in the graduation show. To reflect on this change, Andrea and Arif spoke to members of the committee and the academy as well as a recent graduate. The guests are: Joram Kraaijeveld, Marina Otero Verzier, Katja Mater, Mica Pan and Tomas Adolfs.
