Exhibition: Eighteen Iconic Houses Under One Roof
The Prague City Museum's Centre of Modern Architecture Monuments curated the exhibition "Icons of Czech Avantgarde" as to introduce the topic of the upcoming Iconic Houses Conference that brings about a hundred international key-figures in the field of 20th century house museums to Prague to present a curated program of Czech residential gems. The exhibition at the Norbertov Centre maps these very works.

Meet Conference Co-Chair Maria Szadkowska
Conference Co-Chair Maria Szadkowska is chief curator of Villa Müller and Villa Rothmayer and heads the Centre for Monuments of Modern Architecture at the Prague City Museum. She is the organizer of our Prague itinerary.We asked her: What stories do these houses on the Prague tours tell? 'Style diversity – which is one of our conference themes. Prague has the full range of modern styles, from Art Nouveau to Brutalism. It’s a unique mix.'

17 June - 'Pioneers of the Dutch Modern House' Film
On Architecture Day, Architecture Centre FASadE in Amersfoort (NL) screens our film at the Rietveld Pavilion, feauturing 20 iconic houses in the Netherlands: from Amsterdam School to postmodernism, from Rietveld to Van Schijndel and many others. Prior to the screening, a special visit is organized to a private house, designed by architect Leo Heijdenrijk. Combination ticket of film and house visit.

Support the Frankfurt Declaration (on Housing)
Knowing that Europe and beyond face enormous challenges in terms of affordable housing, as well as healthy living and quality of living environments, DOCOMOMO presented the Frankfurt Declaration which appeals to the actors in politics, business and society, and in particular cities and municipalities to implement relevant goals, proposals and measures to solve the housing shortage. And what can we learn from the successes of the modernist housing estates like New Frankfurt, Berlin Housing Estates, White City of Tel Aviv) in the 1920s and 1930s and the large estates  from the 1950s to the 1970s?
