| | IF YOU BEGIN TO FEEL THE HOUSE CATCHING AT YOU | Solo exhibition by Feline Hjermind
@ NEVERNEVERLAND Amsterdam
We are used to domestic spaces being designed for us to inhabit, but what happens when houses become moody main characters rather than backgrounds?
A new animated video installation with flickering tracings and ornamented strokes, it examines the “haunted house” as a fiction trope. The viewer is invited to peep over fences and through windows, but who is watching whom?
Opening 13 OCT 19.00 - 22.00

| | | | SCHOOL FAMILY STATE | Premiere at 17.30
And Q&A moderated by Paul Gangloff, with Claudia Doms and Klara Eneroth
@ Theory Stairs, Gerrit Rietveld Academie
A film by Claudia Doms with Filip Birkner, Vasily Dyakonov, Klara Eneroth, Natalia Kukina, Lesya Kuranova, special appearances by Sebastian Campos, Sam de Groot and Sheila Levrant de Bretteville.
School Family State is a documentary film about a group of graphic design students from the Rietveld Academie and BHSAD in Moscow. Closely linked to her own biography, graphic designer Claudia Doms follows the diverse protagonists in their last year in art school and a year after graduation. The film reveals the unique mind set that exists in the isolated space that the art school provides, contrasted with the different pathways that follow graduation. It explores notions of privilege and compromise, steered by the micro context of the family up to the macro forces of geopolitical changes.
Trigger Warning. Parts of the film take place in Russia. It is therefore possible that the content of this film can be emotionally challenging or trigger traumas for (Ukrainian) people. Please take the necessary steps for your emotional safety.
