| | Vandaag gaat de Dutch Design Week van start. Iedere jaar reden voor het Van Abbemuseum om flink uit te pakken met grensverleggend design, en dat is dit jaar niet anders. Hieronder vier unieke projecten nu te zien in het museum. Met als bonus: vijf kijktips op andere, deels virtuele, locaties.
Van plan te komen kijken? We zien er naar uit je te verwelkomen. We doen ons uiterste best voor een veilig en prettig bezoek. Je bezoek verloopt wel iets anders dan voorheen. Zo vragen we je vooraf online een ticket te boeken (ook met museumkaart) en een mondkapje te dragen.

| | Zand is na water het meest gebruikte materiaal op
aarde. Je vindt het overal terug, van de gebouwen waarin we leven en de brillen
die we dragen tot aan de chips in onze telefoons. In deze tentoonstelling
belichten alumni van de Design Academy Eindhoven een scala aan aspecten gerelateerd aan het gebruik
van deze grondstof.

| | Ontwerper
Christien Meindertsma is gefascineerd door de route tussen oorsprong en
uiteindelijk product. Het tapijt dat nu te zien is in het museum toont in vogelperspectief
de reis die de wol van een schaap aflegt, langs verschillende locaties op aarde, om een eindproduct te worden. Voor het
project heeft Meindertsma de
krachten gebundeld met CSrugs uit Asten.

uit alle delen van de wereld komen naar Eindhoven om te studeren, te
werken en te leven. Hoe visualiseer je de manieren waarop een stad steeds
internationaler wordt? Studenten van de Design Academy Eindhoven zijn door het museum en de Gemeente Eindhoven gevraagd de internationalisering van Eindhoven in beelden te vangen.

| | Galerie en uitgeverij Onomatopee presenteert van 17 t/m 25 oktober het [Un] social Design Museum. Een fysiek en digitaal programma dat bestaat uit verschillende tentoonstellingen en virtuele evenementen, waaronder een minisymposium, meerdere boekpresentaties, een veiling, workshops en lezingen.

| | Today, Dutch Design Week is kicking off. A reason for the Van Abbemuseum to come up with groundbreaking design, and this year is no different. Below you'll find four unique projects on display in the museum. With an added bonus: five tips to go and see other (virtual and live) locations.

| | After water, sand is the most used material on earth. You can find it everywhere, from the buildings we live in and the glasses we wear to the micro chips in our phones. In this exhibition, alumni of the Design Academy Eindhoven highlight a range of aspects related to the use of this raw material.

| | Designer Christien Meindertsma is fascinated by the route between origin and final product. The carpet that is now on display in the museum shows a bird's-eye view of the journey a sheep's wool takes, along various locations on earth, to become a final product. For the project, Meindertsma has joined forces with CSrugs from Asten.
