Met 120 kunstwerken strekt de collectietentoonstelling Dwarsverbanden zich uit over alle vijf de verdiepingen van het collectiegebouw. Veelal inspirerend, soms confronterend ervaar je hoe kunstenaars van 1900 tot nu reageren op verschillende culturen en perspectieven. Dwarsverbanden nodigt je uit kunst anders te ervaren. Soms letterlijk, door te voelen, ruiken of horen. Soms metaforisch door verschillende stemmen het woord te geven. | |

Parallel Lives, Paralel Aesthetics toont het werk van twee niet-Europese kunstenaars, die elders hun sporen al ruimschoots verdienden, voor het eerst in Nederland. Een groot retrospectief omspant het leven van León Ferrari (1920 – 2013, Buenos Aires) en wordt gecombineerd met een overzicht van het werk van Gülsün Karamustafa (1946, Ankara). De coronapandemie heeft grote impact op ons leven. Na een periode van acute crisis volgt bezinning en de roep om verandering. Met zo’n 80 kunstwerken uit de collectie verkent A Lasting Truth Is Change, de eerste grootschalige tentoonstelling van conservator Yolande Zola Zoli van der Heide, een aantal urgente thema’s, waaronder emancipatie, gelijkwaardigheid en rechtvaardigheid. Kinderen krijgen een leidende rol in deze tentoonstelling die standaard ideeën over de presentatie van kunst wil doorbreken. | |
