Het nieuwe culturele seizoen bij het Van Abbemuseum

Vanaf september hebben we een gloednieuw programma voor je in petto. Het Van Abbemuseum trapt dit culturele seizoen af met een primeur: met de verwerving van circa 50 werken uit de designverzameling van Lidewij Edelkoort begint het Van Abbemuseum na 86 jaar aan een nieuw hoofdstuk in het verzamelbeleid. Ook zie je de zevende editie van de tentoonstellingsreeks Positions en de installatie Feel the Vibe op Eindhoven Airport.

De collectie is...Lidewij Edelkoort

Hoe dicht liggen kunst en design nou eigenlijk écht bij elkaar? Daar geven Lidewij Edelkoort en het Van Abbemuseum tijdens de DDW 2022 antwoord op. De expositie De collectie is... combineert circa 50 designobjecten van Edelkoort op poëtische wijze met beeldende kunst uit de museumcollectie. Met o.a. Maarten Baas, Jurgen Bey, Nacho Carbonell, Piet Hein Eek, Hella Jongerius en Studio Job.

Rewinding Internationalism

Als gevolg van globalisering veranderden in de jaren 90 de wereldverhoudingen in rap tempo. In de groepstentoonstelling Rewinding Internationalism belichten vanaf dit najaar ruim 40 makers hun ideeën over internationalisering. Video, audio, scripts en sampling vormen de rode draad in nieuw werk van Lubaina Himid en Magda Stawarska, susan pui san lok en Didem Pekün.

Dagelijks gratis rondleidingen

Ontdek unieke verhalen over het museum, de tentoonstellingen en kunstwerken in onze dagelijkse gratis instaprondleidingen. Van dinsdag tot en met zaterdag om 12.30 uur en 14.30 uur en op zondag om 14.30 uur. Zondag is er een langere rondleiding om 12 uur, die op de eerste zondag van de maand in het teken staat van de architectuur van het museum.

The new cultural season at the Van Abbemuseum

From September, we have a brand-new programme in store for you! The Van Abbemuseum kicks off this cultural season with a first: with the acquisition of approximately 50 works from Lidewij Edelkoort’s design collection, the museum starts a new chapter in its collection policy after 86 years. Also coming up are the seventh edition of the Positions exhibition series and the installation Feel the Vibe at Eindhoven Airport.

How close are the ties between visual art and design really? Lidewij Edelkoort and the Van Abbemuseum answer this question during DDW 2022. The exhibition The collection is... poetically combines some 50 design pieces from Edelkoort’s collection with visual art from the museum collection. Rewinding Internationalism

As a result of globalisation, world relations changed rapidly in the 1990s. From this fall, more than forty artists present a range of perspectives on internationalism in ten separate scenes in Rewinding Internationalism. Lubaina Himid and Magda Stawarska, susan pui san lok and Didem Pekün created new work in which the use of video, audio, scripts and sampling form a common thread.

Daily free tours

Discover unique stories about the museum, the exhibitions and the artworks in our daily free guided tours. Tuesdays to Saturdays at 12.30 and 2.30 and Sundays at 12.30. On Sundays, you can join a longer tour at 12, which focuses on the museum's architecture on the first Sunday of the month.
