We nodigen
je graag uit voor de opening van de tentoonstelling You
will play in nuance and grow community,
een project van kunstenaar Temitayo Ogunbiyi.
You will play in nuance and grow
community, is een jaar lang durend interactief
project van Temitayo Ogunbiyi. In Het Oog komt een grote structuur
waar kinderen kunnen spelen. Gemaakt van gebogen staal en omwikkeld met
natuurlijke vezels zullen de vormen - en de beschermende matten - Het Oog veranderen
in een speelplaats voor het jonge publiek van het museum.
Langs de naastgelegen muur heeft
Ogunbiyi een systeem samengesteld voor het kweken van eetbare planten die goed
gedijen in de regio. In de loop van het jaar zullen de planten worden verzorgd en
geoogst door lokale schoolgroepen. De bij elkaar horende projecten initiëren
ruimtes om samen te komen in het museum en gemeenschappen te laten groeien.

kunstenaar Temitayo Ogunbiyi en curatoren Nomaduma Rosa Masilela en Thiago de
Paulo Souza, nomadische curatoren bij Vleeshal, Middelburg.
16.30 – 18.00 Borrrel in
museumcafe Karel 1

Please join us for the opening of You will play in nuance
and grow community, a project by the
artist Temitayo Ogunbiyi.
You will play in nuance and grow community, is a yearlong, interactive project of Temitayo Ogunbiyi.
Occupying The Eye will be a series of large
structures, for children to play with. Constructed out of bent steel and
wrapped in natural fibres the forms – and the protective matting - will
transform The Eye into a playground for the museum’s young public.
Along the wall Ogunbiyi has composed a system for growing edible plants
that thrive in the region. Over the course of the year the plants will be
tended to and harvested by local school groups. Conceived together the projects
initiate spaces to come together in the museum and grow communities.
