| Iconic Houses welcomes the Riez House in Brussels! | In 1925, Joachim Riez, a building materials merchant, commissioned the architect Jean-Baptiste Dewin to design and build his house, a perfect example of Art Deco in the port district. The builder was already well known at the time, having already been commissioned by Victor Horta to build Solvay House (1903), and by Michel Polak to build the Villa Empain (1934).

| CALL TO ACTION: Help Restore Maison Binotto! | Serge Binotto designed this circular house in Mirepoix, Ariège, south-west France, for his parents in 1969 while he was working as an assistant to Jean Prouvé in Paris. It was one of the last houses to be built in Jean Prouvé's workshop. It is also a unique example of the application to a house of the ingenious processes developed by the Prouvé workshop for the circular service stations produced for the Total company.

| DATE CHANGE: 8th IHC2025 new dates 17-24 May, 2025 | Our field trip to prepare for the 2025 conference was very informative. We visited many homes and met with local partners. The most important thing to share with you now is that we have decided to bring the programme forward by one week due to Memorial Day (26 May). As this is an important holiday in the US, it would be difficult to recruit catering staff and arrange transport. In our December newsletter you will get a preview of the 2025 program!! |
